Quantity Tracking
Aggregate counts only. Best for consumables, fasteners, and generic supplies. Simple, fast, no individual item overhead. The default mode for every new part.
Serialized Tracking
Every unit tracked individually under its own serial number, generated as SN-YYYY-NNNN. Each one moves through in stock, reserved, consumed, installed, scrapped or returned, which is what a repairable part or a regulated one needs.
Asset Tracking
Like serialized, but consumed units automatically become Resource records in the asset hierarchy. Used for high-value items with full lifecycle management.
